Team:
This team is responsible for managing the portfolio of products and services used in driver assistance and autonomous driving vehicles. The scope covers all related products in HERE’s portfolio from standard definition data for driver assistance solutions to centimeter accurate lane data & services for hands free driving. Additionally, the team will create immersive in-car use cases and software products to highlight the benefits of driver assistance. We handle topics and processes related to creation of new offerings ranging from ideation, pricing, development and taking solutions into the market. To achieve this we participate in various activities with partners and customers to capture the market needs.

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager in Automotive Software Development to drive innovation and excellence in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and in-vehicle software solutions. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership experience, and expertise in Android, and React development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team developing ADAS and in-vehicle software solutions.
- Develop and maintain software across a diverse technology stack, including in-vehicle operating systems, user interfaces, and cloud API development.
- Oversee the design and implementation of advanced GUI solutions for ADAS, with emphasis on Android development and modern frameworks like React and Flutter.
- Ensure scalable, user-friendly applications by leveraging modern development practices and tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate application development into broader system architectures.
- Drive technical architecture and design decisions aligned with HERE’s technology ecosystem.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in automotive software to drive innovation in driver assistance and autonomous systems.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing software for high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Engage directly with partners and customers to gather insights and translate them into technical solutions.
- Promote a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development within the team.
- Manage resources, timelines, and risks to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.
- Work closely with other HERE teams to integrate ADAS solutions with geospatial technologies, mapping platforms, and location-based services.
Who are you?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 10+ years in application development, with deep expertise in Android and React, and 3+ years of hands-on experience with Flutter.
- 5+ years leading software development teams and activities.
- Proven track record delivering complex products or custom solutions.
- Strong expertise in architectural and system design.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of:
- Java/Flutter with Spring Boot
- OpenSearch/ElasticSearch
- Generative AI, LLMs, and Prompt Engineering
- Frontend development (React, TypeScript)
- Experience with scalable, cloud-based solutions and distributed systems.
- Proficient in modern practices and tools: Agile, CI/CD, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
Would be a plus
- Experience with geospatial technologies, mapping, or location-based services.
- Knowledge of HERE’s APIs, HD Live Map, or Open Location Platform.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, streaming (e.g., Kafka), and large-scale analytics.
- Knowledge of automotive software or in-car operating systems like QNX or Automotive Grade Linux.
