FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Mobile Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and evolution of BusUp’s mobile applications for Android and iOS. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and other engineers to deliver new features and improve the overall mobile experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building products from the ground up, proactively identifies opportunities for improvement, and brings new ideas, technologies, and approaches to the team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain mobile applications for Android and iOS.
• Participate in the development of BusUp’s new mobile platform and future mobile products.
• Implement new features with a strong focus on performance, usability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to deliver outstanding user experiences.
• Work closely with Backend engineers to define APIs and integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following industry best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor application performance, crashes, and user experience metrics.
• Support release processes and post-release validation activities.
• Maintain technical documentation when required.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required

• Experience developing mobile applications for Android, iOS, or both platforms.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and design patterns.
• Experience working with REST APIs and backend integrations.
• Knowledge of testing practices and code quality standards.
• Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT,GitHub Copilot, or similar solutions to improve productivity, code quality, documentation, testing, and development workflows.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (Portuguese is a plus).

Nice to have

• Experience with modern mobile frameworks and architectures.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
• Experience with analytics, crash reporting, and monitoring tools.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Experience building applications from scratch or participating in platform modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of Kotlin, Swift, Flutter, or modern cross-platform technologies.
