We are the Marketplace team within Blacklane’s Chauffeur domain. Our mission is to optimize how rides are distributed, ensuring chauffeurs get matched efficiently while delivering a seamless experience. Last year, we rebuilt the Chauffeur workforce app on a modern Android architecture, giving us a solid foundation to now focus on marketplace optimization, scalable architecture, and intuitive user experiences.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

Drive development of the Chauffeur workforce app, focusing on marketplace features and continuous improvements.
Shape and evolve our Android architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and high code quality.
Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend to deliver iterative, high-impact features.
Define and enforce best practices in testing, CI/CD, and app release processes.
Mentor engineers, foster learning, and elevate the team’s technical standards.

ABOUT YOU:

8+ years of Android experience, with a proven track record as a Senior Engineer.
Expert in Kotlin, modern Android frameworks (e.g., Jetpack Compose, Hilt/Dagger, Coroutines/Flow), and building production apps.
Strong understanding of architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, VIPER, etc.) and modular, maintainable code.
Product-oriented: ability to solve real user problems, ship iteratively, and learn from feedback.
Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and app release processes.
Collaborative and communicative: can engage effectively with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders.
Mentorship mindset: guide teammates, review code thoughtfully, and raise the bar for engineering quality.
