Android Development Lead (AAOS Experience)

We are looking for an Android Development Lead who is not afraid to solve different issues and invent new decisions.

You will take a leading role in building and optimizing Android-based in-car experiences, working closely with our Product and Design teams to deliver seamless integrations for OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partners.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Android development
  • 2+ years with Android Automotive OS
  • Proven experience leading Engineering teams or technical projects
  • Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Jetpack, and Android app architecture (MVVM, Hilt/Koin)
  • Experience with voice assistants or audio processing
  • Familiarity with AAOS-specific APIs, CarApp library, AudioManager, and in-car UX constraints
  • Proven experience in aligning stakeholders
  • Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
  • Background in real-time audio streaming and WebSocket APIs
  • Understanding of automotive safety, certification, or regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Android engineers and QA building applications for Android Automotive OS (AAOS)
  • Drive technical architecture, system design, and best practices for performance, security, and automotive-grade reliability
  • Ensure seamless integration with embedded systems, car hardware APIs, and OEM standards
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of clean, testable, and scalable code
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and regular status reporting
